Over the last few months cybersecurity experts have been seeing a new trend. This trend shows that novice hackers have been infiltrating that works and just hanging around. What this does is it create an easy way for expert hackers to get in and cause damage. Many times even the novice hackers gathers information at a much slower pace so they are harder to find.
We have a case that we have mitigated, the business has been breached and data stolen and the server was encrypted. We got in and started to investigate the breach and had found out that the breach that was their 12th breach. The other 11 breeches took information and cause disruptions, but in a much lower scale which could have just indicated problems with Windows itself or with Windows drivers.
Some cyber security companies call this a failure of the IT department but we see it more as the fact that if they are the IT department and not the company cyber security department. The to do walk hand-in-hand but do two different job functions.
