I just wrapped up my latest article for Brainline.org. While most of the time, I have a clear feel for the direction I want to move in when I write, every piece takes on a life of its own.

When I write, sometimes I veer in a direction I hadn’t anticipated. Such was the case today.

In today’s piece titled, “The Lingering Effects of Brain Injury,” I delve into how two souls who are closest to me, my wife Sarah and my dad, still are paying the price for my 2010 accident.

It stirred up a lot of heavy and unexpected emotion.

At the request of my Brainline editor, I do not post these pieces before they premiere on the Brainline site. As such, I’ll be sure to let you know when it’s live.
