Linear Sliding Gate Operators Replace Aged Equipment at Hines VA Hospital

Last week I wrote about an installation: “Hines VA Hospital Replaces Magnetic Automatic Barrier Gates”. ECI finished a project for the Edward Hines Jr. Veterans Administration Hospital in Hines, IL as a subcontractor. We replaced much of the equipment we originally installed some 15 years ago.

The image above shows one of the seven?Linear?Heavy Duty Slide Gate Operators (Model HSLG) we replaced. To the left you can also see another of the replacement Magnetic barrier gates, new bollard covers and access control equipment on goose neck pedestals.

The Linear slide gate operators are available in either 1/2, 3/4 or 1 HP motor options, and can be mounted on a post (standard, as shown) or pad (optional). It is ETL listed and UL325 compliant and includes safety features such as anti-entrapment (we included safety edges on the gates as well as photo-electric eyes) devices and covered rollers.

You can see one end of the photo-electric unit in the image below. It is black and mounted on the fence post to the lower left of the slide gate operator. Follow the conduit running to it from the operator.

The HSLG-4 (pictured above) has a ? horsepower motor that can move gates weighing up to 1200 pounds and 45’ long at a speed of 10 inches per second. The HSLG-1 has a 1 horsepower motor that can move gates weighing up to 1700 pounds and 55’ long, also at a speed of 10 inches per second. A ? horsepower is included with the HSLG-2 model. It can move gates weighing up to 1000 pounds and 35’ long.

These operators are reliable solutions for commercial and industrial properties. They supply a smooth, reliable and quiet power transmission. Each model has a weather-resistant cabinet, exterior stop/reset button, and power on/off button for added convenience.
