Limor, the Social Audio App

My first thoughts were “No not another Social Media platform, there are too many out there already” when Nick Holyoake suggested I attend a The Growth Hub Cirencester #InspireMe event with Shane Monahan The founder of #Limor a new Social Media, well Social Audio App.
How wrong could I be! Not only was Shane’s back story fascinating in terms of the highs and lows of playing professional rugby but his App sounded pretty awesome too!
Limor is to podcasting what Instagram is to photography. It’s a platform where members can upload their own podcasts, made by recording and editing straight onto Limor, for all to hear. However where it gets really interesting is that people / you then interact via voice (you can write text but it’s all about the audio).
This app is all about creating trust through personal communication which in turns creates strong robust communities who will support each other and help each other grow.
Because it is voice, there seems to be a better connection between followers, you hear the tone of their voice, they hear yours! You can join in conversations wherever you are, no having to type long blogs or articles. (This post has already taken me much more time than my Limor posts!) And you can listen to podcasts on the go.
Due to the infancy of the app they are still adding features but already you can form your own groups, join groups, edit your own podcasts, include hashtags in the summary, search other content. Unlike Vera this isn't a flash in the pan, Shane hasn't even started to officially market it yet, when that happens it will be an even more interesting app to watch and be a part of.
So if you are slightly frustrated with "traditional" Social Media as it is today and feel you want better engagement and want somewhere that is more genuine with a great community feel then I really recommend Limor. https://www.limor.ie/
?Hopefully I will get to chat with you on there!
