"No Limits"? - More Than a Project

"No Limits" - More Than a Project

“I’m not saving lives,” I often remind myself as I churn out a mind numbing amount of content, day, after day, after day. I love what I do but sometimes I struggle with the fact that so many people are out there doing good in the world and I, comparatively, am not.

What began as a simple video concept about a year ago, highlighting a female race-car at driver, Ewy Rosqvist, has turned into easily the most rewarding project I’ve worked on in my time at Mercedes-Benz.

First video below...

Ewy’s inspiring story of how she entered the world’s toughest endurance race, the Argentinian Grand Prix, and won, sparked the idea to produce a toy version of Ewy’s with Mattel, Inc. which evolved into a social experiment as we questioned what role gender stereotypes play in the development and career paths of kids. Are we in fact the ones reinforcing the limits they put on themselves?

At the end of the day, Ewy’s story is amazing and it was never about inspiring girls to be race-car drivers, but rather to let them, or anybody, know they can be whatever they want.

“If Ewy could enter the Argentinian Grand Prix, and not only win but set a world record, why can’t you be an engineer, a football coach, or president?”

We got to ask that question today as over 60 of us from MBUSA shared the toys and Ewy’s story to every first grader in Atlanta while National Girls Collaborative Project distributed another 50,000 cars to hundreds of other schools and organizations across the country for National STEM Day.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the project such a success over the past year. I still didn’t save any lives today, but I’d like think we helped change some.

Keep an eye out for the cars as they hit stores nationwide in December!

Wow - I loved this inspiring video on Ewy when I saw it on MB's social media. But what's even more impressive is you took it to a much higher level by sharing it with the younger generation so they will remember it forever with this physical memorabilia. Kudos to you and the whole team!?

Well done Jordan! I also believe that even though we may not be able to help everyone, everyone of us can help someone by supporting great initiatives like this one!
