Limitless Life!

I am back after a one week break.

Every time I look back and reflect on my personal and professional journey, I always feel underwhelmed by what I have achieved. I feel I could have done a lot more. I feel that I set the bar low.?

It reminds me of the last scene in the movie Schindler’s List – where he is overwhelmed by regret that he didn’t do enough.?

I live through that gut wrenching scene every year.?

It’s not that what was achieved is less – and I am extremely grateful for what I have. It’s the unsatisfactory feeling of not pushing yourself enough.

When I reflect on why this is happening repeatedly, I realized that our capacity is limitless, it’s our mindset that's limiting. What stopped me is my own view of what is possible.?

And this is something I try to experiment with. I tried different approaches and some of them worked well. Here are some that you too can try.

1.?????Improve 1% everyday – doesn’t matter where you are today, focus on improving by 1% everyday. The simplicity of this strategy is that without knowing you will compound your performance. But you need to be disciplined. And whatever you are trying to achieve should be measurable.

2.?????Talk to someone who has achieved 10x than what you think is possible - I don’t think what worked for them will exactly work for you, but at least your mind will now accept that 10x is possible. Or partner/work with someone who thinks that 10x is possible.

3.?????Don’t set goals -??Go all in. Pick an area of your life that you want to be ambitious about and do it with everything you’ve got. We are taught that goals are important – but goals are also limiting. Goals are important only if there is a fear in what you can or cannot achieve. Not setting goal means that sky is the limit. But for this to work, you need to commit 100%. Otherwise not setting goal would end up in procrastination.

I have tried all the above in different areas of my life and have benefitted immensely. They may or may not work, but I can guarantee that you’d have achieved far more than you had imagined.?

Have a limitless week!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts buddy! Helpful as always.

Look at what we desi/indians do to our kids - we want the child to be einstein in physics, curie in chemistry, mozart in music, etc. We forget life and its journey are beautiful; sprint too fast, you miss the aroma of the flowers growing on the side of the road :-)
