Limited Edition of One
An invitation to live your uniqueness

Limited Edition of One

This gem of a book focuses on 'daily differentness' and how to tap into the potential of what makes you who you are and what you have to offer.

Amanda Blair, author, communications professional and lecturer will lead you through a series of questions, exercises and experiments that will take you on your own personal journey of uniqueness. Each chapter will lead you through an exploration of yourself and how you might bring your uniqueness to the world through questions, activities, doodles and dreams.

In a world where the power of leveraging different people with unique perspectives can make a huge difference to complex problem solving and collective creativity will get you to where you want to be quicker, it's refreshing to have a guide that not only celebrates uniqueness, but really helps us exercise it.

The best books on my shelves are the ones that have little scribbles in the margins and post-it notes on dog-eared pages. Limited Edition of One provides loads of wonderful white space after each invitation or exercise to help you create your own personal journal. Is it weird that I'm already looking forward to re-reading mine in months, maybe several years time?

Just to wet your appetite, there were chapters that I whizzed through, like the Tribe chapter (I'm fascinated by tribes, how they are formed, what they mean to different people and how tribe behavior comes about). I was happily filling up my pages, but on a dog walk a couple of days later I found myself reflecting on individuals I've connected with at different times in my life and learnt something different about me in the process. There were other chapters that I found challenging. It might just be me, but could you write the story of your life to date in six words?

As we all grapple with the consequences of COVID-19, we are united in our collective experience and yet know that none of us will experience it in exactly the same way. So whatever our strange world is throwing up for you right now, a little time out to live and love your uniqueness can only be a good thing.

Go ahead, play a little. You are extraordinary.

Thanks for the recommendation Sharon - sounds an ideal book to read while on lockdown where the future will be very different and we will be required to draw on our strengths and be more creative going forward - just ordered it ! Hope you are well.

Such a great write-up for such a unique book! I too love creative workbooks like this and have really enjoyed working through the exercises and picking what I want to focus on depending on my mood. Also enjoyed reading about tribes but also enjoyed reflecting on childhood experiences and how they shape us today. Can highly recommend it too!

Just ordered. Sounds good. I’ll swap notes when it arrives. We should have a virtual book club. That would be fun. Hope you are well x
