To overcome any situation, we need to understand what is the problem. Similarly to overcome limitation, first we need to understand what our limitation actually is/ are.

Limitation can be in any form. It can be in the form of financial, physical, mental or educational limitation..

It is obvious that no one can have same limitations and it differ from person to person.

But recognising ones limitations is half the battle is won. You can now easily breakthrough these since you know very well what are your limitations.

Winning every battle, overcoming your limitations starting now

Your limitation could be the new job Opportunity – say you have reached a certain level in any organisation and you seem to find that you cant go beyond that level any further..

Or it may be that you have now reached the limit of your earning potential and cant seem go any higher than present.

Or it could be that you have limitations in the sports arena and can’t seem to breakthrough and beat your previous best.

Even certain relationships will have limitations. You may have convinced yourself that you are only capable of being happy with a certain type of person.

Reasons. What Causes Limitations?

Procrastination or being in comfort zone is the most obvious reason of causing limitation.

For example like in a job where you have reached to ceiling of your personal growth and financial growth and you cant seem to go beyond certain level, its time to look for other company which is in bigger size then your existing one or can be smaller but with a vision to be big. Challenge yourself to come out of your comfort zone and take that as an opportunity to grow further. If you do so, you will end up overcoming this limitation.

Some time, our limitations are set by someone said something sometime. For example, ?you may have been told at one stage by someone that you can only achieve to a certain point and as a result your mind-set is stuck in that zone and you cant even think beyond that limit.

I remember one story of a sports person, he was appearing for an cricket bowling trial and was told that his physical dynamics are not that of a bowler and he should give up the dream of becoming a bowler. To some extent, it created such a mind-set for that athlete that he once stopped practicing anything. However, on the counselling with some experienced cricketers, this gentlemen practiced, and practiced hard and eventually played for his country as a premier fast bowler even at a normal height of 5’6”, yes it is Fidel Edward from West Indies.

Another reason for limitations is that because others within your group have the same limitations, it could be that you have normalized this as just the way it is.

Its now high time you stop worrying about this limitations and come out form your comfort zone as nothing is impossible even overcoming your limitations.

How can we Overcome Limitations

It all relates to your mindset, if you think you can, trust me you can and no one can stop you from achieving that.

Since you have identified your limitations just ask yourself one question ie why are they your limitations?

Remember, that it’s you who has ultimately determined that your limitations are your own, no one from outside can influence it.

So change your mindset starting now.

The mind can deceive you. Your perception is that it can not be done because no one in the past has ever done it. There are many examples in history where perception that something is not achievable has held people back. But then, there is first of everything. Why cant you challenge yourself to be the first to break that perception and become what you want to become.

Let me quote this – we all have read about the athelete Roger Bannister who became the first person to break the four minute mile record. But before he achieved this feat in 1950s, it was thought to be an impossible task.

But once he broke it, there were a flood of others who beat the four minute barrier over the next year including several times in one race by multiple runners.

So you can also overcome your limitations. DELETE the word limitations from your dictionary and FOCUS on determination and hard work to overcome any CHALLENGE.

You have to believe that whatever you think you can, you can and you can break through whatever challenge that may come in your way in achieving your dream. Some of the techniques you can apply are :-

·????? Stop doing what others do.

  • Think of it as already done.
  • Think of the benefits to you when you achieve it.
  • Plan a strategy and action plan to get there in stages and avoid distractions.
  • Invest time and energy into reaching your goal.
  • Surround yourself with successful people.
  • Get a mentor to guide you through the initial steps.

Conclusion

So most important is to change your mindset. Watch stories / movies of achievements. Read biography of people who struggled and eventually achieved success. See yourself in your mind of doing the same thing. It will condition your mindset to think differently and it will prove to be mind workout as you do a physical workout.

Whatever limitation your struggling with, know that you can break through it.

So all in all, the only thing stopping you is yourself, no one can influence or convince you other than you.

So stage is set to put in all you have got and go for that dream ride with your hard work and perseverance to with a positive mind set.
