Liminal Newsletter: October Edition

Just as we look to close the end of October, we got to see the pre-jitters of a Bitcoin ETF approval, directing towards a bullish trend from here on. It was an interesting month for the Web3 ecosystem as we continue to see the rise of institutional interest and acceptance of digital assets as a form of payment in bigger markets.

From watching the end of the SEC-Ripple battle to positive regulation news coming from Australia to Ireland becoming the new hub for institutions in Europe, this month is perfectly poised to see bigger price action and even bigger industry integration news. And on the Liminal, it was definitely an intense and exhilarating month catered in a new package altogether, which we are excited for you to discover and learn all about.?

Prediction Of All Spot Bitcoin ETF To Be Approved Together

According to crypto ETF expert Stuart Barton, all applications for spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) might be approved simultaneously. Barton, the Chief Investment Officer of Volatility Shares, whose company already secured the first leveraged crypto ETF in the U.S., believes this unique approach stems from the SEC's experience with ether ETFs. By approving all ether ETFs in one go, the SEC successfully passed a public litmus test without facing legal challenges. Bloomberg Intelligence analysts and Cathie Wood from ARK Investment Management also share this view.

Ripple’s CEO Out Of SEC’s Radar For Real

The U.S. SEC has dropped claims against Ripple's CEO Brad Garlinghouse and Executive Chairman Chris Larsen for alleged involvement in violating securities laws with XRP transactions. This development cancels a scheduled trial, marking a victory for Ripple. The SEC's case against Ripple continues and edges closer to appealing a federal judge's ruling.

Crypto Hacks Surged 153% in Last Quarter

Between July and September 2023, Crypto and Web3 projects experienced a 153% surge in attack incidents compared to the same period in 2022, according to a report from Immunefi, a blockchain security platform. In Q3 2022, there were 30 attack incidents, but in Q3 2023, this figure jumped to 76. The total loss amounted to nearly $686 million in the recent quarter. The Mixin hack on Sept. 25 was the most significant loss, which drained approximately $200 million.

Alright, now, it's time to take a break from the news around the world and give you a sneak peek into what has happened at Liminal over the past month.

Liminal introduces Certified Wallet Engineer course

An All-Exclusive Wallet Engineer Course Launch At Unfold

Being one of the hackathon partners at this year's Unfold 2023, we wanted to bring something niche into the event, where we can take the lead and educate the next generation of wallet engineers who will build the future Web3 ecosystem. The course covers everything from introduction to hardware wallets, how to safeguard wallets, wallet hacks history, specialization in MPC tech and how automation can be built in wallets securely.

We were stoked to see a massive response for our Certified Wallet Engineer course, with budding developers, builders and engineers coming onto our booth, signing up for the course on the spot, and participating in our special Cypherock hardware wallets giveaway.
