Lil girl’s best friend ? -By my sister

“We became best friends. He was my best guy friend. He was trancentendent of all the guy friends any girl could have. I was the luckiest. He spoke certainly but in those rare times I used to get lost in his words. His words were magical . Yes,magical.Every word was like a drop of elixir. And when these drops with the passage of time gathered, ready with their benefits, they soothed me to the deepest. We used to sit together and have endless conversations, doing this became my hobby. ” I said to the girl sitting left to me. The train slowed down. She was someone to whom I was just a storyteller in the journey. On peeping out I saw a flock of birds returning their homes, perhaps a similarity between us.

I continued “One morning he wailed at me. Like all the girls just one wail brimmed my eyes with tears.I didn’t eat anything from the morning and lied on the bed whole day. When he was informed about it, immediately he rushed towards the room I was lying in. Convincing me in such situations is not an easy task. But he succeeded. He did that so cutely that in the quarrel between my mind and heart where my mind like a school gatekeeper stood stubborn with his hands tied and a two alphabet word ‘NO’, my heart was the winner.

I don’t know why but wherever he went I always experienced a kind of fear, a fear that made me think of him most of the the time, a fear that made my heart beat faster whenever I heard a phone ring or his name.Maybe my sixth sense. That fear is something beyond description. If I am allowed to add another word in dictionary then I would do that to describe that feeling. Fear is just a word near it. On pondering, today I realize why did that happen.”

“Why?” said the girl. I adjusted myself. Ignoring her question I continued.

“We faced a car accident on 28 Oct 2012, he was injured the most. I yelled watching him injured. I cried for days. Afterall I was a little girl then. But he?he was the strongest man in the world. We spent months in hospital. A single drop of tear was all I saw in days of painful surgeries, emotional downfalls and wrecking hopes. Something unbelievable, I think he owed supernatural powers.”

I looked at the dusk out, changing colors of the sun. Then the girl near me moved forth concealing it. I paused and continued.

“Time is the biggest healer and it healed him. Psychologically, it healed me too.Things were again on place. My best friend was happy again. And this made me the happiest.

We used to laugh together, we giggled together, his sense of humor was incredible and his smile, it had the power to steal anybody’s heart, it was peerless. I imagine how could God make someone so exemplary. A perfect man was he.

Food was our common crush. And therefore we enjoyed it together. He brought me the tastiest rabdi ever. That rabdi was not just a rabdi. It was an experience. Just one bite of it could directly launch you in heaven.Ah! That peace! We experienced it together. As far as cooking is concerned then he was a master chef. The food he made was neither food nor experience, it was a feeling. The superlative of feelings.”

The train was crawling like my life. I took my water bottle out and had a sip. “Then?” the girl near me questioned with curious eyes. “Where is he now?”

I continued “It was 25 October 2016. He was not well from few days. So a decision to have a checkup to a nearby city was made. The next day they were leaving. At around 9.30pm he was sitting near me. Seeing him I experienced a strange kind of feeling that I never in my 16 years of life did. I hugged him tightly. The tightest I could. His hug was another form of elixir that he was mastered at producing .The warmth soothed me. I felt the securest girl. “You’ll soon be well. We have fought big things, it’s just a mere.”I said then. He widened his arms and hugged me back .Then I stretched myself back. He smiled.I never imagined it to be my last hug with him. Next day, returning from school I heard something which broke me excruciatingly. I was pushed from the utmost height . I lost him. I lost my dad. I lost my best friend. Yes my best friend was my dad. We fought toughest battles together. But this fight defeated us. The strongest man in this world was puissant and nothing could compare his strength. One day God challenged his strength. An unfair battle was organized. But he? Neither did he say a word nor did he complain. He fought all alone, alone against a myriad of warriors. God cheated us. He snatched my warrior.” The train stopped. I took my bags, waved my journeymate and went my way .She didn’t say a word. She stared me strangely till our last eye contact.

I still feel myself lost in those happiest times I spent with my best friend. 16 years and 10 months of togetherness .The best phase of my life.
