Like a Fire, The Holy Spirit Provides Clarity and Comfort
The Holy Spirit is like fire.
He is an all-consuming flame.
But He won't burn you.?
He will consume your fear, your depression, and your anxiety.
And set you free.
On your spiritual growth journey, you'll learn many new nuggets about the presence and the power of the Holy Spirit. This article is about how He's like a fire providing light (Clarity) and warmth (Comfort).
Growing up in Southern California, I can count on one hand the number of times I've gotten to sit by a fire. Read a book by its light. And be comforted by its warmth.
It's a blessing to have more than a handful of intimate experiences with the clarity and comfort of the Holy Spirit. This is my goal for you during the 23-Day Spiritual Growth Challenge. And hopefully, your goal for yourself is also to experience the clarity and comfort of the Holy Spirit.
Why?
The Holy Spirit provides us with clarity in confusion and uncertainty. He illuminates the way forward and helps us see things more clearly.?
One of my favorite quotes by Tony Evans is "if all you see is all you see, then you're not seeing everything there is to be seen." Or something like that. Ha! The point is that there is spiritual activity happening all around us and we need the Holy Spirit to shed light on what we can’t see with our eyes.

The Holy Spirit's illumination is especially valuable when you’re facing difficult decisions or you're trying to make sense of challenging circumstances.
Just like a fire, illuminates the darkness, the Holy Spirit illuminates our understanding of God's will for us and helps us to see things clearly. Jesus said, "when the spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth." The Holy Spirit gives us insight into the physical things we can see, as well as, an awareness of spiritual things we can't see.
In the same way, the Holy Spirit is also a source of warmth and comfort. Just as fire brings warmth and comfort on a cold winter night. The Holy Spirit can bring a sense of peace and comfort to your heart and your mind.
Occasionally, difficult circumstances will result in painful losses. The Holy Spirit is there to comfort us and remind us of God's great love for us. He comforts us in our sorrow, like no physical person can, and helps us to find hope through those difficult times.?
One way that He comforts us during difficult times is with the fruit He produces: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control. When we least expect it, this fruit shows up at the right place, at the right moment, right when we need it the most. And we’re left in awe and wonder about His faithfulness toward us.
The Holy Spirit is a source of light (Clarity) and warmth (Comfort). He's an all-consuming fire that has the power to transform our hearts and our minds, and equip us for the future.
"If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in Heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!" 1 Corinthians 3:16.?
So ask Him.
