Lights, Camera, Action: TEDxSydney

What an honor to be asked to be part of an amazing TEDxSydney session with Owen Eastwood.

Microsoft has partnered with TEDxSydney to engage business leaders on the topic of hybrid work and explore why fostering belonging in the workplace is so critical to attracting, retaining, and nurturing their teams in today’s era of work. As part of this partnership, we are producing a series of digital events under the banner of Hybrid Work The Belonging Imperative.?

Featuring Owen Eastwood – a high-profile and NZ-born performance coach who has worked with the likes of Royal Ballet, Command Group of NATO, and England football team to shape high-performance cultures in some of the world’s most diverse and competitive teams. Born in New Zealand, Owen is deeply connected to his father’s Māori culture. During his Master Class, Owen will draw on the ancient Māori concept of Whakapapa and our universal human need to belong, how this intrinsic need extends to the workplace today, its impact on team performance, and why belonging is now a business imperative leaders can’t ignore.

Owen has recently published a book titled ‘Belonging: The Ancient Code of Togetherness’.

Owen’s Master Class follows our first Master Class in December that featured Stan Grant and Microsoft’s Chief Diversity Officer Lindsay-Rae McIntyre, and precedes our final Master Class in April with Kirstin Ferguson and Microsoft’s CVP of Talent, Learning and Insights Joe Whittinghill.

What a wonderful experience, looking forward to launching our discussion with you all soon.

Great session and the best insight I got from this is the concept of "recovery". It's not necessarily time off, but a change of task/intensity at regular intervals. Gold!
