Lights, Camera, Action! Commend AI Person-On-Track Technology

Last week, Commend UK’s latest Ai technology received its TV debut, when it was featured on U&Yesterday’s Secrets of the London Underground alongside KeolisAmey Docklands.

Matt Nolan , Technical Interface Manager at KeolisAmey Docklands, featured in the programme alongside Presenter Siddy Holloway to discuss and demonstrate the many features and benefits of the revolutionary Commend Ai technology.

Commend Ai was implemented across select DLR stations when KeolisAmey Docklands were looking for an innovative, intelligent alert system for intrusion along an automated railway. Despite its demonstrated performance in terms of punctuality and reliability, intrusion risks still remained present along the railway due to the dense crowds on the platforms. This meant that there was no reliable way to detect unauthorised people on track, prevent major incidents and reduce pressure on operators in the control room.

Enter Commend Ai.

By analysing security camera footage, Commend Ai was able to rapidly differentiate between objects and humans on the rails, whilst ignoring the movement of trains. By analysing the collected data, the solution was then able to qualify the event, identify false positives and alert the control centre for intervention if necessary. Since Commend Ai is agnostic to IP cameras, it can also work alongside existing video management systems (VMS), making it a cost-effective solution with minimal disruption.

Commend Ai can also be expanded by additional PA/Audio capabilities for crowd control and abandoned luggage, enhancing passenger experience and safety measures.
