The device was calibrated using neon lamp and polystyrene reference sample. The transmittance correction was applied using standard tungsten halogen light source. The resolution of the device was tested with calcite reference sample according to ASTM protocols. The performance of the device was further validated using other materials such as silicon, diamond, paracetamol, acetonitrile.
