Lighten Up!

Lighten Up!

This article is about moving from fear and darkness to love and lightness: a transformation that has been beautifully captured by Anita Morjani in her book "Dying to be Me." She eloquently said:

"I believe that the greatest truths of the universe don't lie outside, in the study of the stars and the planets. They lie deep within us, in the magnificence of our heart, mind, and soul."

Similarly, Dr Wayne Dyer reminds us that,

"When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change."

It's rampant at the moment - fear! The Damocles sword of doom and worry is hanging over us. We're doomed every instant of every waking hour by the insistent stories of pervasive anxiety, unrest, war, famine, and fear in the world. We're also haunted by the conditioning of lack and fear from parents and a society who are similarly conditioned.

Fear and worry are exactly the energies that are creating imbalances in our world: from poverty to environmental devastation, to war, hatred, and avarice. People perpetrate acts of violence because they are in fear energy. They are ignorant of their Divine essence because they were a product of their environment (mental, emotional, and physical).

As Anita Morjani said,

"I understood that I had control over the conditions of my body. I saw that it's possible to heal."

No one, in spite of what you might hear, is born evil. Evil is just a fear shroud - an aspect of lack of consciousness, a denial of Universal energy, of which we are all intricately a part and interwoven.

The only way to counterbalance in this world is to simply let go of fear, of any form of energetic resistance. Because when we pour our fear and worry into the world, we create more evidence of fear and worry. It's like pouring fuel on the fire. As Dr Wayne Dyer puts it,

"You cannot always control what goes on outside. But you can always control what goes on inside."

In a similar way we approach our health. We look at the symptoms and in the scientific, medical world of drugs and medicine, we look at alleviating or healing the symptoms, but we don't really treat the root cause. At least 90% of all disease/illness (including cancer) is a result of mental and emotional imbalance, some sort of energetic imbalance (whether our own or the collective energy field we are immersed in). Our physical layer is the last port of call: that's where all imbalance finally shows up.

To counter your own fears and worries and to positively contribute towards and create lasting peace in the world, we must look to transforming our own state of being, our own self-concept.

We do this by actively embracing and embodying self-love: an act of being that allows for acceptance, immense self-compassion, and the fullest expression of who we are, as we are. We don't try and pretend to be something we're not. We're not trying to be perfect or someone else's ideal of perfection. We are already perfect in our own quintessential image and in the field of Universal energy.

When we practise fullest self-love, we honour ourselves and we do only that which expresses our bliss. We don't conform to others' standards for us. We allow ourselves the scope and freedom to explore who we truly are, what we were born to be, what we choose to be in this physical dimension.

Secondly, we also dispense with the notion of control. Because control is a facet of fear energy. We simply let go of the idea of having to change our beliefs or society's rules and strictures on what is right and wrong. We look within to notice whether we vibrate to the resonance of unconditional love of self. When we live by the values of unconditional love (loving without condition, offering acceptance and compassion), we can't help but vibrate that outwards to others and the electromagnetic field of the Universe. Others get swept up in the magnificence of this expansive energy and can't help but be drawn in and upwards with it. This is the concept of entrainment. As Ken Poirot said,

“Light can devour the darkness but darkness cannot consume the light."

And remember too that lightness is not just about remembering that we are unconditional love at our core, but that we need to dispense with the heaviness of fear, worry, and doubt. It's an invitation to not take everything so seriously. Indeed, expansive energy is about having fun, laughing at yourself even when things go awry. It means living in every precious, mindful moment, loving and appreciating life to the full. We only get drawn into negativity when we brood on the past or over-ponder on what's around the corner.

We owe it to ourselves and to the rest of the world to elevate our energy, to transcend our fears, doubts, and worries. We cast them off and abandon ourselves to allow the flow and serendipity to guide our steps into the unknown. When we move through this energetic Universe without fear and without attachment to control or any set of beliefs or outcomes, there is only blissful abandon. A fearless, light-hearted spirit is a spirit that creates a life of ease and prosperity in all its nuances.

As Anita Morjani once said,

"When you realize that you are magnificent and divine, it's like you open a door in your mind to the possibility that you can create the life you want."
