Light the Night
...so I am asking for your help because we have a relationship; I will leave it for you to define.
As most of you know, a few years ago I decided to get involved with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) because of the video below. Please watch it and then continue reading on.
With so many needs in our world today, I believe in this cause for two reasons; cancer does not discriminate and the success rate of this organization is off the charts. Here is an amazing example: This past July, the clinical trial you just watched in the Fire with Fire video has become the FDA’s FIRST approved drug to fight leukemia.
During my first three years supporting LLS, I did not know anyone who was directly affected by this terrible disease. Then it hit home. Titus, the 2 year old son of a best friend was diagnosed with Leukemia. My heart sank as my knees hit the floor to pray for him and his family. After seeing Titus in the hospital for months at a time with the pain and suffering he endured to his running around with his siblings like a normal little boy at last years Light the Night Event, I cannot help but do more than ever to help others; miracles do happen.
This year I am again honored to serve on the 2017 Executive Leadership Council for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Charlotte Light The Night Event. For those who have not experienced Light The Night, it is an evening fundraising EVENT that brings together communities to honor blood cancer survivors as well as those lost to the diseases. It shines a light on the importance of the LLS mission: To CURE leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
This year’s Walk will be held on Saturday ,November 4, 2017, at Romare Bearden Park in Uptown Charlotte. Participants of all ages are welcome! It will be a fun, family friendly event with live music, refreshments and entertainment including a fun zone with bounce houses, mascots, a rock climbing wall, corn hole, glow-in-the-dark face painting and for the first time - a legit fire works show!
This year, we again trying to raise $100,000 of impact funds for The Leukemia Lymphoma Society (LLS). Kathryn and I pray almost every day and ask almost everyone we know to help.
