Light

This morning I was looking out toward my balcony which faces the south. On the floor of my apartment, streaks of light were dancing back and forth, coming through the vertical blinds of the sliding glass doors. As I watched the light streams dancing, I became mesmerized by the waltzing rythm. Up and down, one two three. In and out, one two three. The waltz from the light nearly hypnotized me. The experience was fascinating and captivating. As I watched, I imagined the creation of the universe. First there was darkness and void, and then light began to appear. As the time wore on, the light became brighter, dancing to the rythm of a waltz. Stars of light were formed. Streaks of light ensued. It was all so very beautiful and majestic--totally miraculous.. 

Our Creator God repeats this miracle of light and creation every morning. At first it is dark, and then light begins to appear in the sky. Lighter and brighter until the streams of light come dancing through our windows, dancing and waltzing into our lives. What an amazing miracle of creation we are privileged to witness and enjoy.

Our Father in Heaven,

Thank You for the miracle of light, the miracle of creation every morning of our lives. May we always remember it is You who is the Source of light and creation. It is You we worship and adore. Make us humble in our awareness of You and all the many gifts and blessings You bestow upon us.

Create in us a clean heart and renew a right spirit within us, we pray in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit--one God, worlds without end. Amen.
