The Light At The End of The Tunnel
See that lobster? That is the light at the end of the tunnel for us all...summer.
Particularly in Boston, many of us look forward to Memorial Day as it is the beginning of life again. We come alive when the temperatures hit 65 degrees. The Boston Marathon, Memorial Day, The Fourth of July, summer cookouts, shopping on Newbury until 9 pm. Sure, Florida is great, but there's something you have to love about Boston during the summer.
For me, it's goosebumps as we get on the ferry in Woods Hole to dock in Oak Bluffs. It's my sister and I driving around the island playing loud music with the windows down, counting down the minutes until Back Door Donuts opens, waking up early to run and walk into town with my mom for her coffee.
To be honest, I have never wanted to be doing just that, more than ever before. I'm not going to sugarcoat the situation we are all in right now, this SUCKS. We were experiencing one of the best economies we have ever had, 2020 had just begun, we thought this was going to be the best year yet.
Let me tell you something, it will be the best year yet. We are uniting as a country, as a community. Our leaders are handling things in the best way possible to protect us all in not only healthcare but the economy and those that won't have a job during this time. Let's do our part, stay productive, laugh, support others, enjoy the little things and please, more than anything, let's do this for summer.
