"The light at the end of the tunnel is not an illusion, the tunnel is."
I recently came across this quote on my colleague's LinkedIn profile
2024 has been a strange year for me, filled with illnesses, family breakdowns, and moving cities.
Throughout this time, I was constantly searching for that ray of light, a beacon of hope, trying to make sense of what was happening. But at times I would often wonder: What exactly am I looking for? What if I'm looking at it all wrong?
What if this journey is merely an illusion I've constructed through my consciousness? Yes, I know it sounds philosophical, but there's some truth in it if you sit down and actually think about it.
Most of the time, I find myself in my head, thinking and observing my thoughts. I'm often struck by how our minds craft and elaborate these scenarios, these "tunnels" – THIS REALITY we perceive. Sometimes we create something we don't want or something that isn't real, yet these mental constructs become so convincing that we treat them as absolute reality.
The "tunnel" – our perceived path of struggle or our sufferings – is frequently just a construct of our own making.
This isn't about toxic positivity or denying real challenges. Rather, it's about recognizing how our consciousness shapes our reality. How many of our limitations are simply stories we've convinced ourselves are true?
Perhaps freedom lies not in reaching the light at the end, but in recognizing that we have the power to dissolve the walls we've built around ourselves.

4 个月Thought provoking article !! Gained a perspective which sometimes we know but miss when life does not go our way. But we always forget that the mental constructs that we build in our life takes away from freedom or from reality. In our ancient scriptures there is a valuable saying which mentions Life for a person is the way he looks at it , a shift in his perspective will change his entire assumption of life
