Light Designer Lars Mallant about where his passion and our lighting solutions converge

In this article, which is also featured in our newsletter, we are pleased to let a light architect speak who shares our passion for lighting solutions. The wishes and needs of light designers and architects are the input for the development of our fixtures. Therefore, we would like to ask Lars Mallant of Rainforest Lighting to see where his passion and our solutions come together.

Rainforest Lighting creates lighting designs that bring gardens to life both in the daytime and at night. With his creativity and ingenuity, lighting designer Lars Mallant has taken garden and landscape lighting at home and abroad to the next level.

“My approach is inspired by nature, and in particular by the rainforest. In the rainforest, the light below is refracted by trees, branches, and leaves. This makes the light surprising, soft, and shadowy. We translate this natural and atmospheric light into every garden using sustainable artificial lighting.”

Rainforest Lighting has developed a unique method to show you beforehand what you will get afterward. An evening demonstration will give you an idea of how your garden comes to life in the dark.

Besides quality, what do you find important in a fixture?

Quality fixtures are of course important to Rainforest Lighting. We also look at lifespan, maintenance, flexibility (lenses and accessories), design, cooperation, and sparring with the lighting manufacturer and the water tightness classification of the Inground fixtures.

How do you experience contact and cooperation with CLS?

S is a fine, fast-moving organization. I have always found the contact very pleasant, and I still do. CLS is professional, thinks along in solutions, and the few issues I have had are resolved quickly and satisfactorily.

Which fixture series fit best in your lighting designs?

For now, it's definitely the Revo Inground Series and, in addition, I use the Revo Series (directional spotlights), depending on the situation and application. These outdoor directional and ground spotlights are available in different sizes and there are various lenses and accessories available for each variant. The Revo Inground also has the option of dimming via Mains-Dim, DMX512, or Casambi. This makes these fixtures the best fit for my designs.
