Vincent Todd Tolman’s Near-Death Journey to Heaven and?Back
I recently enjoyed interviewing Vinney Tolman, author of “The Light After Death: My Journey To Heaven And Back.” Vinney generously shared his profound experience with his spiritual guide, Drake, which deeply moved me.
If you’re curious about what’s on the other side based on Vinney’s direct and profound experience, buy and read his book. He delivers ten powerful life lessons that all of us can use to transform ourselves into a higher, more loving, and universally accepting view of the world in which we live.
Or, you can watch my video interview with Vinney on my YouTube channel, Get Clarity for Life.
Why Religion Gets a Bad?Name
One significant insight from Vinney and others with near-death experiences is that our understanding of faith, God, and world religions is often incomplete. This misunderstanding stems from relying on second-hand experiences, like church attendance, scripture study, and early indoctrination.?
Many dismiss religion based on this limited knowledge or cling to childhood teachings. My lifelong journey has involved exploring various world religions and their deep thinkers who dared to question their cultural and religious norms: mystics, monks, martyrs, sages, and saints who paid the ultimate price with their lives to profess their faith.
It is difficult to find people who aren’t “spiritual.” Not so for people who reject “religion” as being a bad thing. Even though religion can reveal how to live a virtuous life, too much gets lost in translation, and it could be that dogma is dead.?
It’s the zealots among us who give religion a bad name. No wonder mainstream churches struggle to stay in business. Most of us want to know why we are here, what our purpose is, and how to carry that out. “Simple, not easy,” as we say in the rooms of recovery from the living hell we create.
Discovering the Purpose of?Life
Vinney’s experience is described as a journey to the afterlife and a transformative personal revelation that offers insights into living a more fulfilling life here and now.?
Through his guide, Drake, Vinney received profound wisdom about the nature of existence, the purpose of life, and how to navigate the human experience with insight and compassion.?
These lessons likely touch on understanding and accepting death, recognizing the value of love and relationships, and realizing the potential for personal growth and spiritual development.
The first three of Vinney’s ten lessons include the power of being authentic, earth is a school, and love is the gateway to liberty.

Seeing the Similarities
When every human on earth chooses to see the similarities in others, we will know world peace. But don’t hold your breath.
However, chances are you have an open mind and heart if you’re still reading my article. Study enough near-death experience stories, as well as the body of work at the University of Virginia’s Department of Perceptual Studies. You’ll discover similar consistencies, including the following:
The biggest lesson we can learn from people like Vinney and millions of people who have experienced near death is that just about everything we think we know about faith, God, and world religions is not entirely true unless you’re a religious zealot unwilling to see the similarities in the world religions.?
Universal Truth
A universal truth is that every soul is here to learn. As Vinney puts it, the earth is a classroom, not a courtroom. Our purpose is to transcend the suck of the human ego and learn to love all that is, including people who tell us we’re going to hell in a handbasket because we believe in near-death experiences.
In closing, Vinney Tolman’s journey in “The Light After Death: My Journey To Heaven and Back” offers a transformative view of existence and reassessing our spiritual beliefs.?
Through his near-death experience, he provides a compelling narrative about life’s purpose, the interconnectedness of all beings, and the potential for personal growth and spiritual understanding.
The book challenges readers to reconsider their preconceived notions about faith, God, and religion. It suggests that much of our understanding is based on second-hand experiences and encourages a more personal exploration of these profound topics. Tolman’s insights urge us to look beyond religious dogma and embrace a more expansive, loving view of the world.
Lastly, Tolman’s account of his near-death experience resonates with common themes reported by others who have had similar experiences. These include encounters with a comforting light, a sense of transcending the physical realm, and profound intuitive understanding.?
Vinney’s story reminds us of the mysterious depth of human consciousness and the potential for extraordinary experiences that can profoundly change our perspective on life and death.
