LIG Failed (a bit) But Rose From Its Ashes!
1,405!
That’s the number of careers we transformed with our LIG program so far (Nov. 2017). Those who sought better employment with multinational organizations, most of them succeeded. It created career opportunities to those who never even thought it was possible. My inbox exploded with "thank you" e-mails.
But, I failed in one area…
Miserably, I should say!
Let me share what happened.
My promise was that LIG members wouldn’t only get opportunities to interview for big multinational firms, but they would also pass those interviews.
My program delivered on the first promise but failed on the second one.
Although I had the best interview training in the world with LIG's bonus modules, I was still getting emails from LIG members like this;
Now, this was heartbreaking to me.
It really was.
My beloved LIG members didn’t join the program because of its brand name.
They joined because they trusted me.
They valued the opinions I shared on my YouTube channel or my Career Mastery website.
And I could deliver only half of what I promised.
Then, I started connecting with them one by one.
The common theme was that the program rocked (sorry for a bit of an opportunistic marketing here) but they couldn’t replicate what they learned in the program in the interview.
Getting the interviews part was easy for them because of the exclusive strategies they learned, but passing them wasn’t as much.
The common root cause was that they couldn’t handle the interview nerves.
Interviewing for a top employer for multiples of 6 figures salary is nothing compared to anything they experienced before.
This time, they had more to lose.
As a result, the brain went into an overdrive, emotions overwhelmed them.
Now, I do have a specific course module in LIG on overcoming interview nerves, but it didn’t work in the heat of the moment.
Their self-practice didn’t hold much value either.
In retrospect, of course, it didn’t...
You can practice a million times in front of a mirror but being in the interview is a different beast. Heck, in front of a mirror, we are all George Clooney or Meryl Streep...
No amount of self-practice could overcome the interview nerves other than an actual interview experience.
This got me thinking, though.
What they needed was an actual interview experience without the consequences.
How could I properly simulate an actual interview experience?
How can I make you feel nervous in your self-practice?
Being a total nerd, I found the ultimate solution;
Virtual Reality!
I thought; if they could do Virtual Reality porn (Not that I would know) to increase the immersion, why couldn’t I use the same technology to my advantage?
I did.
Introducing; LIG 2.0 with VR Mock Interview Bonus Module
(This was such a cheesy sentence!)
I am happy to let you know that after weeks of trial and error, production mistakes, small fire in the studio, and overnight editing, we finally launched World’s first Interview Simulation in Virtual Reality (for all current and future LIG members)
Watching that module, seeing me interviewing you in VR really gets your heart pumping!
That’s what I call a true interview practice!
Now, every minute you practice in that module will count as a minute spent in an actual interview.
Thought to share my excitement with you all here.
Cheers to your success,
Deniz
