"Lifting as We Climb"

I had the distinct honor of co-presenting the 1st Kimberly Ellison-Taylor MACPA Scholarship at the 38th Annual Scholarship Reception held by the Baltimore Chapter of the National Association of Black Accountants, Inc. (NABA) last night (4/24/19). The recipient was Talitha Johnson who attends Bowie State University. It was a pleasure to meet her and her Father who couldn't be prouder of her accomplishments and where she will take this "down payment". The theme was "Lift as We Climb" and the scholarships were not given as gifts but as down payments on the future contributions required by these students. They are expected to learn, grow and climb to the top. In return, they are expected to bring others along with them by leading the way for those students that will follow them. They are expected to continue the mission of NABA and I have no doubt that they will. I was blessed to be part of this event and have never felt so much love and empowerment in one room. It was truly an inspirational evening and I have no doubt these students will use insights and take action. Congratulations to all scholarship recipients! #MDPROUD, @MACPA
