Lifespan innovations: Highlights from Longevity Summit Dublin

Dominika Wilczok reports on this year’s Summit, where top experts explored breakthroughs in aging research and future healthspan innovations.

Days three and four of the Longevity Summit Dublin highlighted the conference’s innovative spirit with numerous presentations and discussions advancing longevity science.

My take on this: The summit highlighted a wide range of cutting-edge research and collaboration, featuring AI platforms, breakthroughs in DNA repair, explorations of female reproductive longevity and governmental roles in healthspan funding. Engaging keynotes, lively panel discussions and vibrant networking events, including a memorable Gala Dinner, kept the excitement and momentum high throughout.

Key topics included on Day three were:

Innovative AI and DNA Repair: Ben Goertzel introduced Bioatomspace, a large language model for biological data, while Dr Alex Zhavoronkov of Insilico Medicine discussed AI platforms for drug discovery. Presentations also covered advances in DNA repair and aging research.

Female Reproductive Longevity: Niamh Joyce, Maria Marinova and Miguel Brie?o-Enriquez focused on interventions like NAD+ boosters and factors influencing ovarian reserve, culminating in a panel discussion on the topic.

Government Involvement: Discussions featured William Greene on healthspan funding and emphasized the need for governmental communication and cooperation.

Telomere Research: Maria Blasco shared the latest findings on telomere shortening and its role in aging.

Day four continued with:

Metabolism and Aging: Experts discussed neurobiology, senolytics, NAD+ supplementation and growth hormones' roles in aging.

Personalized Therapies: Keynotes by Kotb Abdelmohsen, Lou Hawthorne and Brian Kennedy explored the progress in personalized medicine.

Legal and Regulatory Ecosystems: A focus on the legal challenges facing longevity entrepreneurship.

Networking events, including a 5k fun run and a lively Gala Dinner, provided opportunities for further discussion and collaboration. Awards were given to Alexander Fedintsev as the “rising star” of longevity research and Dr Maria Blasco for her outstanding contribution.
