Life's Too Short Not To Enjoy It!

Life's Too Short Not To Enjoy It!

How many times have been preparing for an upcoming work week and found yourself saying, “Where did my weekend or vacation go?" In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, it's easy to forget that life is short and precious. We often get caught up in routines and responsibilities, neglecting the joys and passions that make life truly worth living. The mantra "Life is too short not to enjoy life and play hard" is a powerful reminder to prioritize happiness and adventure. While it sounds good, when was the last time you actually did it?

When was the last time that you did something just for YOUR?

While to some it may sound selfISH… I see it more as selfCARE! You should never feel bad for taking a break, stopping to look at the world through a different set of lenses, or finding a way that recharges YOUR batteries!

Here are (10) ways to help you relax and enjoy a happier, more exciting life:

1. Prioritize Self-Care: Taking care of your physical, mental, and emotional health is the foundation of enjoying life. Regular exercise, a balanced diet, adequate sleep, and mindfulness practices can significantly improve your overall well-being.

2. Set Boundaries: Learn to say no to things that drain your energy or don't align with your values. Setting boundaries helps you make time for activities and people that truly matter to you.

3. Pursue Your Passions: Identify what excites you and make time for it. Whether it's a hobby, a sport, or a creative pursuit, engaging in activities you're passionate about brings joy and fulfillment.

4. Travel and Explore: Traveling exposes you to new cultures, ideas, and experiences. Even if you can't travel far, exploring your local area can be equally rewarding.

5. Cultivate Meaningful Relationships: Surround yourself with positive, supportive people who uplift you. Invest time in building and maintaining meaningful relationships with family and friends. Focus less on social media connections and more on “real-life” connecting!

6. Practice Gratitude: Regularly take time to appreciate the good things in your life. Keeping a gratitude journal or simply reflecting on what you're thankful for can enhance your overall happiness.

7. Stay Curious and Keep Learning: Never stop learning and growing. Whether it's through formal education, reading, or trying new experiences, staying curious keeps life exciting and enriching.

8. Give Back Helping others and contributing to your community can provide a deep sense of purpose and fulfillment. Volunteering and acts of kindness not only benefit others but also enhance your own happiness.

9. Embrace Spontaneity While planning is important, leaving room for spontaneity can lead to unexpected joys and adventures. Be open to seizing the moment and trying new things on a whim.

10. Live in the Moment Practice mindfulness and be present in your daily life. Savor the little moments, from a beautiful sunset to a heartfelt conversation, and avoid dwelling too much on the past or future.

Don't let another day slip by without truly living! Life is too short to be consumed by routine and obligations. Start today by embracing these best practices and making joy and adventure your top priorities. Whether it's exploring new passions, traveling, or simply savoring the present moment, every small step can transform your life. Act now to create a life overflowing with happiness, passion, and meaningful experiences. Seize the moment, embrace the adventure, and live each day to its fullest potential. The best time to start living the life you’ve always dreamed of is right now!

Dive in, play hard, and make every moment count!

None of my clients want work life balance Roderick. They want work-life presence, showing up with energy, in the moment, fully engaged. Many struggle to establish clear boundaries and say no to what prevents them being joyous and perform excellently in every moment. Some prioritise doesn't matter sacrificing what does. I like to ask my clients these questions: What's the crossroads you've reached in your life and career? Today, who is paying the negative price for your positive pay off? Are you OK with that? What is outcome you want to happen instead? Imagine a miracle happened and it's 3 years form now and everything, I mean EVERYTHING, has gone according to plan, what will be good about that? What else? For whom? What else? For whom? What do you want your career to give you in life? What is currently impossible that if it was possible would completely change the game for you for the better? How will you make that your reality? When we know what's important and what isn't we can focus on what matters and stop doing what doesn't. That way we recover time. I often ask, How long are you dead for? Forever/a long time! When will you say enough is enough and decide that time is too precious to waste?
