Life's Lessons, Challenges and Stories.

Some things are often easier said than done, and sometimes even saying what you're thinking and feeling is challenging. You and I have been through so much over the last three years dealing with a pandemic, shutdowns, reopening's, more shutdowns, travel restrictions, work transformations, endless virtual meetings, family transitions and even deep loss.

I have been relatively silent on LinkedIn and other platforms for the better part of two years as my kids Jordan, Quincy and Brianna and I since June 2021, have been dealing with the loss of their mom and my wife of twenty-seven years after a long battle with cancer. It still makes no sense to me that she's gone at such a young age as we find ourselves moving about daily without her around. Each day we put one foot in front of the other and move forward as best as we can with support from friend and family.

I know my kids lean on each other and their support group of friends a lot, and we find ourselves staying closer to home a little more as a family these days. Understandably everyone deals with tragedy differently. Some try to move on quicker than others, find various ways to cope including therapy, hobbies, or deep dive into more work like I seem to have done.

Many people have suggested that I have not taken the time to process our loss, and that I should seek counsel or take some well-deserved time off. Instead, it seems I dove into a very deep hole of additional work, some very meaningful as I find it therapeutic in a way....…. I'm talking about nearly fulltime hours with Lexus, writing and creating sales and business success courses, launching online courses, writing my second book, speaking and coaching, podcasting, while running an ecommerce sales company https://yaahdy.com/ . Am I crazy to be doing so much or am I really doing too much. It does feel like the latter most days.

But who knows, is this a deep hole from which I can or shall climb out of I ask myself. It's one of the reasons I felt it was time to reengage a bit more. When I think deeply about life's lessons like, I think about whom and what we need more or less of in our lives, what is the true meaning of life, and what is our true purpose here on earth.

Some of us maybe seeking the answer to these three questions, and if you haven't been able to answer I suggest start by asking yourself at least these three before it no longer matters. 1. Whom or what do I need in my life? Authentic friends, family fellowship or support that seeks to uplift, encourage, and give it to you straight without expectations.

2. What is the true meaning of my life? I think true life meaning is often evident through the positive impact you bring to others including your own kids, family, friends, and coworkers. Living your life well so other can be guided by your example. Fulfilment of dreams and aspirations with little or no regret.

3. What is my true purpose in this time we have called life? Living Intentionally to positively impact others and be fulfilled. To live with clear and great intention to serve others well as a responsibility that helps define their purpose.

A big thank you to my family, friends, colleagues including many of you who continue to encourage and support.

Let's make this 2023 a year of intentional living where we continue to learn from valuable life lesson's, step up to bigger challenges as the world certainly need us to, and while at it remember, that "everyone has a story".

I wholeheartedly concur that carving out time for personal reflection and inner growth is essential. Though it can be a solitary journey, the rewards of increased self-awareness are invaluable. Reflecting on our mastermind session, I recall the poignant moment when you shared the devastating loss of your beloved wife. We all stood by you, offering our unwavering support during that challenging time. Taking time for introspection can indeed be difficult, but having a strong support network makes all the difference. Surrounding ourselves with people who encourage and sustain our momentum is the key to achieving a balanced and fulfilling life. Here's to a reinvigorated, successful, and passion-driven year in 2023, Everold!
