Personal Growth :
Continuous learning is probably more important for personal growth than anything else because it can help you meet your personal and life goals. These are goals which bring happiness and joy ( essential drivers for a happy life). This could mean sharpening your stock market trading skills or pursuing a long lost hobby. It could mean learning Yoga or learning a language. Everything that we learn need not be supported with a certification or proof of learning.
A challenge with continuous learning is that at times there is a sense of guilt to spend money on personal learning instead of something at home. While learning need not be expensive but if what you aspire to learn has a cost you can plan for it. Individuals can save a small portion of their monthly incomes towards an education fund. This will come in handy as it will allow you to persue your desire to learn instead of postponing it.
The ultimate goal of every individual should be to a life long seeker of knowledge. It may not bring immediate returns but your learning never goes in vain.
