Lifeline is Looking for More Crisis Supporters
Our phones at Lifeline Australia continue to ring like never before & we continue to be there too for people so they feel heard & so that no one has to face their darkest moments alone.
This is only made possible through our amazing volunteer Crisis Supporters....would you like to join us?
The experience of training a Crisis Supporter with Lifeline is a privilege and as I shared in this reflective piece following my training;
At the very heart of our work at Lifeline is a?person-centred approach, where each interaction with a person who contacts our crisis service is an individual interaction. The call (or message via text or chat) is about their needs, as people are often not looking to us to “fix” things, rather they are often seeking for their feelings to be validated and attended to.

More details about these upcoming sessions:
Crisis Supporter Training and Commitment
The course requires an initial 6 to 8 week training commitment, learning about the theory and philosophy of our service. This is followed by a 56 hour practical internship period where you get to put this into practice in a guided and supported way.
In order to meet the demand for our services, we then typically ask for a minimum two-year commitment with 3 to 4 hours a week to we can be there for people every time they call.
