Never Give Up! Life as a working Mama.

This is just a little insight into my Journey.

So as I sit and reflect on the last 6 months, professionally and personally, I can really be proud of how far I have come. But first, let’s take a journey back, something about me is I am not someone who gives up easily and have always been confident in what I want in my career but sometimes I have made sacrifices for what matters at that moment in my life. Don’t we all do that? My children have had a huge impact on that, as they are and have always been my priority so therefore, I have always chosen to find the balance of doing what I love but maybe not pushing myself as much as I could as I needed my work to work around them. Would I change that? No! As I believe that is what has led me to where I am today. They are my driving force, I wanted to show them to never give up and always, always go after what you believe in and to chase your dreams.

Sometimes in today’s society especially for Women we are often judged for working too hard and focusing solely on that or for being a mum but then judged for not wanting more. You will never win! But You can do both, you can work and have a family. It is hard at times when you are trying to remember everything, keep a tidy house, make sure the washing is done, help with homework and find time for yourself but we do it.

I hope that I am showing my children that and instilling them with a good work ethic and that if you want to have and do nice things in life then you have to work hard. As I have walked down this path of figuring out where I want and need to be professionally, I can honestly say it has at times been challenging as I felt I was never truly where I was meant to be. Each “No” that I have come across has disheartened me at times and caused frustration, however, only now do I understand that every “No” was for a reason, it wasn’t for me.

I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and what is meant for you will not pass you by. This last 6 months have been challenging for different reasons, one being redundancy, which of course creates worry and panic, but I chose to embrace this opportunity and knew something better was on the horizon. Then at a time I could have really started to worry along came RutterKey Solutions and immediately I knew this was for me and that this was the reason why it never worked out anywhere else and for the first time in a very long time I felt truly confident that this opportunity was not going to pass me by nor was it going to be a “No”. This was my time to fully shine and excel at what I do best and to grab this with both hands. I am finally at a place where I love coming to work every day and I am so grateful. Finding a Company that allows me to have a great work life balance is just priceless. ?My two boys are still my priority but they are getting bigger and so I can really flourish in my career. I have a wonderful husband who supports me every step of the way and always has and together we have created a wonderful life for our boys and shown them to always keep going. No matter how hard the climb, the view at the top is always worth it. Timing is everything!

So my message really is this…don’t think or believe that because we are mums and dads that we can’t do both because I promise you I am proof that we can. Sometimes we just have to trust in the journey and know and believe our time will come.
