Life Work Balancing....not Balance

Well it's that time again... pumped to share our 7th studio album together as MOMU (MOyer MUsselman) with polymath bff John David (J.D.) Moyer - and thanks to LOOQ RECORDS LLC/Lo?q Records for supporting us all this way 24 years...I saw a John Quincy Adams quote this morning that fits the way I've pursued "Balance"...which I call? life/work "Balancing" as it's so rare to hit it just right like a Libra Scale - it's more of an elusive pursuit:

We've been making music together almost immediately when we met at the legendary QOOL events at 111 MINNA GALLERY LLC in San Francisco. J.D. aka Jondi and Stephen Kay aka Spesh asked me to be resident DJ for them before I even really knew how to mix vinyl records. This is 1999 timeframe...still not sure how it all happened but there I was working in Tech in SF in one of the booms, learning how to DJ literally in real time building the airplane in the air for one of San Francisco's most happening weekly events. Where I met so many of you that are friends now on All Channels not just LinkedIn . I have fond memories of blasting out of the Akamai Technologies west coast HQ in San Mateo, speeding up the City to make my DJ set in time...with a gang often from Akamai. Music ties so much together in my life - as with so many of you that find a way to keep doing what makes you happy, skipping poker night so you can write beats and finding ways to stimulate both the right and left brain constantly. The new album is called "Moment" ...the working title for awhile was "24 Hours in San Francisco". It's on on Spotify , 苹果 , Amazon Music , for use on Instagram and Facebook stories or purchase at Beatport . Two worlds collided a few albums back with Werner Vogels tweeted about the album - that was surreal. Hope you like the new one too, Werner!

If you are looking at that old guitar in the corner of your office that people see on Zoom but you never pickup, that drum set in the crawl space or that keyboard in the garage - think about dusting it off and put a smile on your face...

As someone thats been in software forever and a drummer, I was tantalized realizing that I had 1,000,000 drum sets in the Mac on my desktop and never look back...

For me it's been non-negotiable for 24 years now...we have been MOMU that long and it's possible that the best is yet to come. Thanks, JD, Spesh and Looq for making it this far together. Work on Balancing. Balance is too hard to sustain. Don't swing too hard in any direction is ideal...
