Life without Search Engine Optimization

If you start reminding yourself of your goals and motivations within the next 4 minutes, this article will have succeeded in its purpose.
Is it too late? Is it too early? Do I like it? What do I really want?
These are some daily questions we all have which could be asked in regards to food, a movie, a weekend plan, a habit, a person, or even a career.
The digital age is full of complex algorithms and methods that make sure the best content is found with the easiest steps.
“Best restaurants near me”
“Highest scored movies of 2019”
“How much caffeine is too much”
We, the generation Y and on, grew up in a world where the answer to any question can be found within less than a second. Top 10-15 are chosen and presented out of millions/billions of possible other options. To be honest, after the top 3, the rest of the pages will hardly get a visit. Presented with the perfect explanations we like, ending with clicks that gets us to the point we wanted to be. It is almost impossible to be disappointed with the result.
Now we are too used to finding the “best” with a single click, we forgot how to be found.
I meet people every day. With great talents, unique interests and abilities most of which are squeezed into an hour of the week (that is the optimistic case) as they are occupied working long hours to make a living, to be able to rest in better conditions, to be able to work more. If you remind them of their passions and talents, most often the response will be “I wish..”
When was the last time you did something for yourself?
Most of us are talented actors and actresses waiting to be found by the famous producer as we sip our coffee on a Sunday afternoon. Knowing that we are among the top 3 results of the very specific keywords we belong to, we stop trying harder. We forget trying harder. We simply wait to be found.
Some of us have smaller dreams, perhaps ones that would be considered insignificant by others or perhaps too easy. See, there can be no variable to measure a goal/dream as it doesn’t need to have an impact on the whole world to be considered important. It is important as long as it makes a difference in your own world.
However, how small or big it may be, only you can make a difference in your life.
You won’t be given unless you ask for it.
Your opinion matters.
Make your voice heard.
Show what you can do.
Remind your presence.
Acquire what is yours.
It is almost funny how we can even feel offended once our opinion on a political group discussion is not asked even-though we did not show the slightest interest on the topic in the first place. The same if you had the best idea for the project you are working on yet you never even criticised the current approach yet you still feel the frustration that no one asked you if you have a better solution.
A good Instagram page can indeed get you a message from a famous fashion designer, or a LinkedIn page gets contacted by a powerful recruiter. 'Optimisation of the best' is happening in many aspects of life, but it isn’t perfect yet and it will never be good enough for you to simply ‘wait’. The digital age made everything faster and ‘more’. There is simply too much of everything and too little time. There is no time to wait or time to be offended but only to step forward.
You know you can. You know you want to. So why not “ask”, “act”, and “acquire”?
Tomorrow will be exactly the way you want it to be. If you act now.
Think 'time'.
Think like you.
Act for yourself. Now.
