Life of a Software Tester
I am QA. I get paid to be sarcastic. I work to get more examples to be more sarcastic.
One of the thingies is spinning. Dev tells me it met the specification!!
They told me it's an edge case, none of our users will be able to do that in Production.
It is space saving, team work design they convince me.
My bugs got closed without justification.
They hate me for logging bugs and doing my job.
Smoke Testing is smoking.
Try catching a sporadic bug.
Test data set up - Jengaaaa
Testing the same thing in Sandbox, Dev, QA, UAT and PROD
And then there is Regression testing. Doing the same thing over and over and expecting the same result.
This is what they think I like to do.
Product Manager's reaction when I recommend stopping the release and Developers support me.
I finally get my build to test. It is 5:00 pm Friday, last day of the sprint.
With every test, I see bugs crawling towards me.
I need access to a working environment and data. But this is what I have to do till production night.
"We don't want to reinvent the wheel, just use what we have. " This is my process.
