It's time for another monthly round-up of articles, advice, interviews & high quality products, all tailored especially for life scientists!
This month we published a great article featuring 10 books recommended by researchers, and shared fascinating interviews with Mark Hunt of the Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology in Poland, and Alka Rao, PhD , a Commissioning Editor at Springer Nature.
We launched an exclusive aCSF instant powder product - available in super-convenient time-saving pouches! - and we ended the month getting ready for the launch of our annual Lab Heroes Awards competition which celebrates the unsung heroes of science labs all around the world!
Let's take a look at our October round-up to get the scoop on all things life science!
Ten fascinating books as recommended by life scientists
We know that science researchers spend a lot of time reading papers and science journals to keep on top of current trends in STEM, but when it comes to brilliant books, which ones would they recommend to others?
We asked life scientists to tell us about their favourite books and why they consider them essential reading for all researchers! They helped us to build a fascinating book list filled with variety and wonder, covering an array of different topics from autobiography to electrophysiology, the consciousness of the octopus to the longevity of disease.

We meet an Assistant Professor who's taking TikTok by storm!
Our popular Interviews with Scientists series continued this month, featuring a fascinating chat with Mark Hunt of the Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology in Poland. Mark is an Assistant Professor who alongside his scientific research work, is also the co-founder of two businesses that offer academic proofreading and medical translation services. In addition, he runs a TikTok account which he uses to share writing tips and advice for scientists.
In this interview he told all about his early interest in medicine, his research work into the effects of ketamine on the brain, and his advice on using social media for effective science communication! Read the full article: https://hellobio.com/blog/interviews-with-scientists-mark-hunt.html
