The Life Scientist Scoop: November 2024

Welcome to our November round-up of useful articles, professional advice & high quality product offers, all tailored especially for life scientists!

This month we launched our 8th annual Lab Heroes Awards competition! Each year we celebrate the unsung heroes of life science labs around the world by inviting nominations from colleagues who want to say thank you to the researchers who support and inspire them! We were also delighted to pick up an award of our own as Hello Bio was named winner of the Business Impact and Transformation Award at the Innovate UK KTP Awards 2024!

We added some great free antibiotics products to our Free Trial Program, and introduced a high quality neuronal tracer with the launch of TracerBiotin?.

We shared an inspiring article celebrating award-winning women in science, and looked at ways to maintain peace and harmony in a busy and competitive lab environment. And finally, we celebrated Thanksgiving with our customers and colleagues in the USA with an article on the science behind some of our favourite holiday dishes!

So let's take a look at our November round-up to get the scoop on all things life science!

Introducing TracerBiotin? - a high quality neural tracer from Hello Bio

This month we were proud to launch TracerBiotin?, a new high quality neuronal tracer and a low-cost alternative to the widely used Neurobiotin?.

TracerBiotin? is commonly used to label neurons and acts as a gap junction tracer. With low cytotoxicity and high stability, it is suitable for use in vivo, slice preparations, whole mounts and cultured cells, and can be delivered by routes such as microinjection, intracellular electrodes, cut and scrape loading. It can be detected using avidin or streptavidin systems, by both chromogenic or fluorescence visualization methods and can be fixed with formalin or glutaraldehyde.

Now available to order in 50mg packs, find out more about this great new product here: https://hellobio.com/tracer-biotin.html

So we decided to shine a spotlight on a few of the many inspiring women in STEM who did win awards in 2024, including a molecular biologist, a stem cell expert, a breast cancer specialist and a tropical disease researcher!
