Life Restructures
When I was watching the movie Alien Vs. Predator, something caught my attention that made me think about life restructuring. There was a scene in which the research crew was inside a pyramid filled with aliens (the movie creatures) and one researcher mistakenly pulled a lever that made the pyramid start restructuring its chambers. The restructuring was scheduled to happen perpetually, every five minutes. Because of this restructuring, the chambers of the pyramid were changing size. The research crew inside was dispersed and one member got trapped in a very small chamber where he could not even stand, so he started panicking and screaming. As a result, the aliens heard him and you know what happens next. Meanwhile, the other research crew member was patient and calm when trapped in a small chamber because she knew the pyramid would restructure again in five minutes. The small chamber walls would open up and turn it into a bigger chamber, so she survived.
The above scene made me think, isn't it true for our real life?
Sometimes, we feel we are trapped in small chambers in our life where we feel suffocated and feel we can do much bigger and better than what we are doing. It could be any of, but not limited to, the following:
- Underemployment
- Financial crisis
- Relationship crisis
- Family situations
The pyramid analogy made me realize that our life never stays the same either. It restructures itself, just like the pyramid, every few weeks, months, or years. That realization made me think we should not panic or scream in smaller chambers in our life either because we don't want to be eaten up by the negative forces like depression, anxiety, etc. So that is my message to all the readers: please do not panic when you face adversities in life. These are the small chambers, but they are not there forever. Life will restructure, the walls will open up and you will have a bigger chamber soon. It's a matter of time, so be patient and calm when you feel trapped in small chambers in your life.
There are signs that tell us our life is about to restructure. In the pyramid analogy, the sign was the scary sound of the gears which were required to move before the walls could move. In our real life, the signs are when we hear the sounds like - "I am nervous, I don't know what the new situation will be like." When we change cities, jobs, relationships, we all face these fears. However, these are not fears, these are the sounds of the gears which are about to restructure our life. Don't be scared, be prepared. Life is about to restructure and new opportunities are waiting for you in the new structure.
To conclude the above description, I would say:
When you are in a small chamber of your life, do not be disheartened and panic, try to be calm and patient. When you are in a bigger chamber of your life, do not be arrogant and complacent. Because in either case, it is not forever, life will restructure again.
--Life continuously restructures itself, there is no trap forever.--
