Life Is a Reflection of Your Thoughts

All of our actions are preceded by thought. What that means is our behavior is based upon how we think. To live a life filled with happiness and contentment, we must guard the quality of our thoughts. You can allow negative thoughts to pass through you, without giving them the opportunity to grow, while allowing positive ones to take root and thrive.
Most of us mistakenly believe that happiness, in life, occurs randomly, perhaps also believing that living in abject poverty and being unhappy is something that is predetermined by the gods. This way of looking at life is an illusion.
The life that each of us creates, with our amazing personal mind, is a direct reflection of our thoughts. We paint the canvas of our mind with many colors and hues, as a result of the dominant thoughts that we entertain. The human brain is an amazing organ that can make associations and correlations, while recognizing patterns and generating endless thoughts about these patterns. However, a truly happy life is one that is governed by our inner spirit, not dominated by a volatile parade of reactions to every thought and feeling that arises within our personal mind.
Who we really are, is not limited by our human brain, alone. Each of us is an important link in the magical chain of life; with a unique contribution to make. While we have a mind, we are not our mind in the same way that we have a hand, but are not our hand. The personal mind, along with the thoughts that it generates, is merely a tool to allow us to maneuver in our mortal world. Each of us has an innate ability to either accept or reject the many thousands of thoughts that come to our consciousness each day.
When negative thoughts arise from negative situations, be aware of what is happening within you and observe them. Try not to judge them, just observe. This allows negative thoughts to pass through you, without taking hold of your mind or creating new thoughts about them. It is, at that point, that your thoughts are free to formulate objective actions, instead of impulsive reactions. Harness how much attention you give to negative thoughts that arise within you, about situations surrounding you.?
This practice can be the pivotal change that allows you to connect more deeply with your inner-self. Everyone faces the same challenges with thoughts. Mastering how you allow random repetitive thoughts to settle within your mind, determines everything about the quality of life that you will have.?(Excerpt from Reflections on Transcendence - Second Edition, 2022)
