As a student in High School Akilah desired to be a part of an organized group of young people like herself. Her search proved ineffective as no group welcomed her into its fold. To the rescue an elder, a teacher, an angel by the name of nbsp;Mrs. Burke of Westlake High School. She encouraged Akilah to stretch and create what she was looking for elsewhere!
Hence the beginning of the BEE CLUB INC. The acronym means ‘Becoming Empowered through Education’. Mentoring and transformation are the cornerstonesnbsp; of this organization.
