Life Locked Down

Gloomy greys give way to bright blues skies
Birds bring cheer to the desolate greens
For a long time, we longed for leisure
It came with the condition of confinement.
Lonely neighborhoods walk along empty streets
Kins agreeably crowd homes once lonesome
A full house, for now, forgets the forlorn metropolis
Silence talks aloud with still life, as time quietly listens.
Commoners become prisoners; the celebrity solitary
White-collars clamor remotely; laborers live without a living
In this battle, distance is the drug that can heal
Precious life hangs between health and wealth.
A planet in peril, a warning from above
We shall overcome, howl a million voices
We shall rebuild from here, a better future
Where all creatures can breathe without a ventilator.
