Life is like ice cream...enjoy it before it melts :)

Last week we traveled from Connecticut to Los Angeles to visit my kids. It was special because my 94 year old mother made the trip with us. Before I left, I decided not to be in my business so that I could be completely present with my family and enjoy being on vacation. I even had time to read 3 fun novels!

Here are some pictures from our trip:

Here we are at UCLA Hammer museum spinning on these funky chairs. I was scared at first and then got the swing of it quickly. It was so much fun I didn't want to stop and my family had to pull me away.

One of the highlights of the week was our visit to the Gamble House in Pasadena.

"The mission of The Gamble House is to inspire the public’s appreciation and understanding of architecture as a fine art through the example of The Gamble House, the most complete and best-preserved work of American Arts and Crafts architects Charles and Henry Greene."

Charles and Henry Greene attended the Worlds Fair in 1893 in Chicago and the Louisiana Purchase Exposition in 1904. They were highly influenced by the Japanese architecture and transferred their vision into the Gamble House. "The visual importance of the aesthetic nature of the joints, pegs, and complex wood-work symbolizes the structure of the house, and coincides with the principles taught in the Manual Training School of their youth. The structure of the house is externalized, or exploded, rather than hidden in decoration. Each element of the structure asserts itself."

I saw the Gamble House as a metaphor for my coaching business. Over the years, I have created, designed, and built a strong business model that is simple and transparent.

Everything I do in my business is well thought out and purposeful. I continually look for ways to make the client journey fun, exciting and aesthetically pleasing.

Meet my mother, Naomi, 94 years young. Her secret to a long, healthy and happy life is to never stop moving, continuous learning and exploration. She is my role model and I apply her wisdom to my business. (P.S. She's been in the backyard for the past 3 hours gardening. I'll have to drag her in around 5 o'clock. LOL)

Ciao for now!
