Life Is Like A Box of DOTS

Last night, during Halloween, two kids about 10 or 11 years old came up to get candy from me at the table I set up in our driveway. The young girl grabbed a handful of candy. The boy took one box of DOTS.

As they were walking away the girl said "You took DOTS?! Those are the worst candy in the whole world. What were you thinking?! DOTS ARE TERRIBLE "

The boy sheepishly replied. "But I like Dots"

I hollered at them "Hey young man, come back here a second please".

I picked up the huge bowl of candy from off the table. I kneeled down on the ground and started digging through the candy. I pulled out every box of DOTS I could find and gave them to the boy.

I told him, don't ever let anyone tell you what you should like and what you should not. That choice is up to you.

I looked at the girl and said "Dots are great. Happy Halloween "
