Life, Liberty & Authentic Happiness (on your terms): How Core Values Drive Your Life

In America, today, we recognize the power a devoted group of people - who come together with a shared vision - have to transform circumstances, and literally change our world.

This is a day of celebrating FREEDOM!

I’m remembering my own journey to freedom, at age 15. I embarked upon a quest for freedom, truth and enlightenment. Except back then I called it running away from home. At the time (like the Founding Fathers), it was my wounds and deepest challenges that sparked my bold commitment to discover a way to live authentically, freely and mightily.

Those who realize greatness know what they want, and speak with confidence, clarity and congruence. They intentionally communicate, and do not pussyfoot around.

When the Founding Fathers signed their name on the Declaration of Independence, they were declaring Freedom and Independence into existence. Their language was clear, succinct, undeviating, and backed by “the Laws of Nature”.

On July 4, 1776, these brave ones declared…

“We hold these truths to be self-evident…that all men are created equal.” Although at the time of its writing, definitions like “men” and “liberty” were questionable...these pioneers transcended fear, spoke with might and commanded change. These potent values launched a great Nation, and inspired a new paradigm in the hearts and minds of generations! And, so it is with you.

Consider...

What have you been speaking into existence? What thoughts have you been frequenting? What do you authentically desire? What is most important to you in life?

Think about your Core Values...

Are you celebrating your values? What values have been driving your life...up until now? Pay attention to where you invest your time, energy, money, and resources; these are indicators pointing to your most fundamental values.

What if I told you that you have power to transform any area of your life simply by shifting your core values? Values drive behavior and behaviors produce results. Therefore, when you shift your core values, everything else shifts to match. That’s what our Founding Fathers were talking about 200+ years ago. They declared that all people share the Natural and Inalienable right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

The United States was formed on the basis of radical, revolutionary thinking; the belief in freedom, equal rights, possibility and progress. May we all remember.

So what can happen right now, in this moment, is for each of us to revisit our own values, discards those that no longer serve us, and live in alignment with our highest purpose and destiny.

Can you see it? Can you picture it in your mind’s eye? Now that's something to get fired up (& light fireworks!!!) about!!!

Here’s one final key. Before the Founding Fathers signed their names on the Declaration of Independence, the last line of the document declared:

“For the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.”

When you are willing to stake it all - even your life - for something you wholeheartedly believe in, and you take faithful action – you will not be denied.
