Baseball is almost back!
Spring training is well under way, and in a couple of short weeks, the MLB season will start.
I know what you are going to say, "Baseball, really?" Baseball is boring. It takes too long. It moves too slow.
Not for me. Until the recent introduction of the pitch clock, it was one of the only untimed sports that we have. No 30 minute halves. No 15 minute quarters. However long the baseball game took to finish, from just a little while to a very long time, it only mattered how you got those 27 outs.
I played baseball my whole life; Little League, High School, College, even a little 'old man' baseball in my 50's. And the game of baseball taught me so much.
The picture above is one that I found at a restaurant in Cooperstown, New York, near the Baseball Hall of Fame. My boys took me there last year as a Christmas present, which was one of the best and most important of my life lessons inspired by baseball.
Of how very important it is to spend quality time together with those you love, without time limits, doing things together that we all appreciate and enjoy.
Please try out these 12 lessons above for now. I'll be back with part 2 soon.
