As we celebrate President's Day (week) here in the United States, I am dedicating this week to educate and entertain you at the same time by highlighting a fun fact and a great quote from five US Presidents.

1st President of the United States
Fact:
Did you know that President’s Day is celebrated on George Washington’s birthday to honor Washington and all those who have served as President. What you don’t know is that Georgie Boy’s birthday it’s also my wife’s birthday… and I can see why she is the boss.

Abraham Lincoln
16th President of the United States
Fact:
Did you know Lincoln made the most quoted speech in American history?
Lincoln spoke at the Gettysburg battlefield cemetery on November 19, 1863. Defying his prediction that "the world will little note, nor long remember what we say here", the Address became the most quoted speech in American history.
In 272 words, and three minutes, Lincoln asserted that the nation was born not in 1789, but in 1776, "conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal"

Fact:
Did you know FDR served 12 years as President, dying shortly after the start of his 4th term?
After his death the twenty-second amendment came into effect limiting how long a person could be President.

Dwight Eisenhower
34th President of the United States
Fact:
Did you know that we have Eisenhower to thank for he US highway system?
Eisenhower championed and signed the bill that authorized the Interstate Highway System in 1956. He justified the project through the Federal Aid Highway Act of 1956 as essential to American security during the Cold War. It was believed that large cities would be targets in a possible war, so the highways were designed to facilitate their evacuation and ease military maneuvers.

John F. Kennedy
35th President of the United States
Fact:
Did you know that JFK was the youngest person elected to the office of President?
Graduating from Harvard in 1940, he entered the Navy. In 1943, when his PT boat was rammed and sunk by a Japanese destroyer, Kennedy, despite grave injuries, led the survivors through perilous waters to safety.
