A life lesson from our roses
Pruning a rose bush quite regularly is essential. It requires removing any dead woods, weak or small growth. But I hate doing it, for it makes the rose bushes look smaller... then, I do it anyway, since I am well aware it makes the plants grow stronger and healthier over the years.
Every rose bush has a life cycle, that includes rest periods, in which reserves are built up... and each one of its roses has a lifetime, in which it blooms to the fullest, then dies... Pruning, getting rid of the old canes and excessive stems, then allowing the plant to rest, makes room for new blooms with vibrant colors.
As I was taking care of our roses all year round, at a certain point, I realised: aren't we all like these graceful flowers? The more we learn to enjoy?life for what it is, to love ourselves for who we are, to lean in the discomfort of our vulnerabilities... then let go when it is time, the peaceful we become... although we might feel confused, fragile, and exposed while doing it, it actually makes us resilient and teaches us that anything beautiful in life, takes time to grow... just like no rose blossoms over night !
Here is to a new beginning !
