Life Lesson: Failure is Not the End

1985 - That's me in 2rd grade, struggling to focus in school. I felt dumb!

I failed 3rd grade.

My teacher, Mrs. Norman backed it up by saying I was “dumb and didn’t care”. They said I would never be successful. I would never amount to anything.

Those years, D’s and F’s dominated my report cards.

My Grades in 2nd and 3rd grade

Yes, I was held back while my friends moved on to fourth grade. At home, my cousins also moved on with straight A’s while I felt like the black sheep of the family. My parents were busy trying to build a business... so at age 8, I was shipped away to live with my aunt and uncle.

I was embarrassed and ashamed. Was I going to feel like a failure for the rest of my life?

Have you ever had a feeling like this before? (Comment below)

We all have these moments of misery in our lives.

This is not a pity sob-story.

This story is about moving past your struggles. This lesson is about not allowing your past to determine your future. I’m talking about harnessing, understanding your feelings and then getting positivity out of it.

I did move away to live with my aunt and uncle in New Jersey. My grades slightly improved but more importantly, I learned an important lesson I still use today.

I learned I was lucky. Not because everything was going my way. Because I told myself I was lucky. No matter how bad things were, I put it in my head that I was lucky. And nobody can take that away from me! -- THE LUCK MINDSET!

The human brain is a powerful tool. Train your brain to think positive and positivity comes your way.

You can complain about your life or be happy you have a life.

My Luck Mindset is not just thinking you’re lucky, but also acting on it.

Here are ten things to incorporate into your Luck Mindset.

1) Keep going.

2) Know things will always get better.

3) It’s ok to fail.

4) Learn a lot.

5) Be different than everyone else.

6) Don't compare yourself to others.

7) Go above and beyond.

8) Care. A lot.

9) Smile.

10) Do more outside your comfort zone.

BONUS: Have fun!

Although I've failed many times in my life, I do not let it stop me from moving ahead!

Failure is Not the End.

Today, I’m blessed to have a loving family, thriving businesses and grateful to be connected to people and an industry I love.

?? Thank you for reading my journey.

Absolutely, mindset is everything in navigating the ups and downs of entrepreneurship. Embracing failure as a crucial part of the journey separates successful entrepreneurs from the rest. It's not about reacting impulsively to setbacks but reflecting on them to learn and grow. Failure isn't just inevitable; it's necessary for achieving significant success in business. Pushing boundaries and striving for what others deem impossible means encountering challenges. Each failure becomes a stepping stone towards greater achievements. Remember, perfection comes through practice, and overcoming major challenges requires persistence and resilience. Embrace the process, learn from setbacks, and keep pushing forward toward your true potential.
