Here is a little story I would like to leave you with, which might shed a little light on how the wisdom of accepting wise advice, and the ability to put happiness first in your life, can pay big dividends.
Happy Holidays to you and yours.
?As we enter into the time of the year where life should be filled with holiday cheer, I just have on my heart and knocking on my door, the last published article I will pen in 2024.
?And what a year 2024 has been.
?From major restaurant chains like Red Lobster and TGI Fridays closing, and putting on the breaks, to major hurricanes Helene and Milton causing unprecedented damage and grief across much of the United States.
?And of course, from the billions of dollars spent on the 2024 U.S. Presidential election, to the toasts of victory, surprise, disappointment, and of fear that have invaded the minds and hearts of hundreds of millions of Americans.
?However, also as we enter this time of the year, for many of us, who can see quite a few disappointing, as well as memorable years in our?rearview mirrors, we are reminded that?life?has always been full of?surprises. Yet, with hope and faith in our Creator, the sun will rise in the morning…and we should always put the happiness in our lives above everything else.
?Here is a little story I would like to leave you with, which might shed a little light on how the wisdom of?accepting wise advice, and the ability to put happiness first in your life, can pay big dividends.
?A man and woman had been married for more than 60 years.
They had shared everything. They had talked about everything. They had kept no secrets from each other except that his wife had a box in the top of her closet that she had cautioned her husband never to open or ask her about.
For all of these years, he had never thought about the box, but one day the little old woman got extremely sick, and the doctor said she would not recover.

In trying to sort out their affairs, the little old man took down the box and carried it to his wife’s bedside. She agreed that it was time that he should know what was in the box. When he opened it, he found two crocheted dolls and a stack of money totaling $95,000.
He asked her about the contents.
She said, “When we were to be married, my grandmother told me the secret of a happy marriage was to never argue. She told me that if I ever got angry with you, I should just keep quiet and crochet a doll.”
The little old man was so moved; he had to fight back tears.
He thought to himself, “Wow! There are only two precious dolls in the box. During 60 years of loving marriage, she has only been angry with me two times.”
He almost burst with Happiness.
Then he said to her, “Honey, that explains the dolls, but what about all of this money? Where did it come from?”
She said, “Oh. That’s the money I made from selling the dolls.”
Wishing you a safe and enjoyable holiday season.
