Life at Huddle: Andrea Rakocija

Continuing in our latest blog series, we get @Andrea Rakocija’s take on her experience as a Huddler so far.

Following her university education, how has life at Huddle proved beneficial?

Andrea’s life as part of the Huddle team began with the simplest of offers, but one that ultimately proved to be worth taking.

“My university mentor, Mario Br?i?, told me about Huddle and gave me an offer to work for them,” she said. “He said that it is a great opportunity to learn something new and improve my knowledge by working on projects with my colleagues from the faculty. It really was as he said!”

Andrea’s current role is a challenging one that sees her work in tandem with a talented team, something that is proving invaluable to her industry skills and knowhow.

“We are completing a meta-optimisation project in which we have successfully managed to speed up the system and we are starting a new project which is more about data engineering,” she said.

“We distribute the work assigned to us by our mentor, Mario Br?i?, so we do not have specialised roles. Everyone in the team does what is agreed upon that day.

“In recent days, our work has been based on studying Delta Lake, which we will need in a new project. Almost everything I've done so far is new to me so it's challenging, but I like it because I feel I'm making progress. Friends and colleagues alike is how best to describe the Huddle workforce, and this is no better demonstrated than with Andrea’s experience here.

“I work in a team with two friends from high school. We enrolled in the same faculty and chose the same mentor who brought us together in a team, teaching us how to work successfully together.

Every working day, the mentor gives us several tasks, which we then divide among ourselves, depending on which task is more interesting to whom.”

“The knowledge I gained in college has helped me in my work. I am happy to use what I have learned in four years of hard work.”

A positive work culture is at the heart of everything we do, and we hope to see this shine through in the great work of every Huddler.

What I like most is work I do here at Huddle because it is interesting to me and the fact that I can learn a lot,” Andrea says. “Also, I love working in a team, especially in this one where I am surrounded by friends. I am very grateful to have an excellent mentor who is always ready to help and who has taught us a lot. Colleagues from the office are great, too!”
