For most of us, the primary idea that resurfaces when asked about the life of an HR is recruitment, fun activities planning and offboarding candidates. But there is more to the life of an HR in an organization. HR is not only responsible for onboarding new talent into the organization but also serves as a bridge between employees and management.
The lifecycle of an HR involves dynamic blend of responsibilities with focus on workforce management and organizational development and leadership.
Here’s a closer look at the day-to-day and long-term aspects of an HR professional’s role:
1) Hiring & Onboarding
HR professionals’ reviews applications and conduct interviews to ensure vacant positions within the organization are filled promptly with individuals possessing the right skills. They also onboard the selected hires by providing them with company assets, introducing them to the company culture, and ensuring a smooth transition through organized orientations, facilitated introductions, and support in integrating them into the team.
2) Communication
Communication is the key to a successful business operations and workforce management. HR professionals play a crucial role in communicating the initiatives that promote job satisfaction and motivation. Furthermore, in their professional lifecycle the HR servers as a bridge between the management and the employees resolving and addressing the queries of the workforce.
3) Strengthening Employee Relation
In a diversified pool of employees hailing from varied culture, socio-economic backgrounds, educational qualifications and experiences, the role of HR professionals become crucial in integrating the employees and strengthening their relationship with the organization by implementing robust employee engagement activities.
4) Policy Development & Compliance
They develop strategic policies that protects the interests of both the employee’s and the organization. This is to safeguard the well-being of the organization and the employees as well as their data.
5) Performance Management
The HR professionals manage the performance of employees by providing structured and constructive feedback to their performances and evaluating their KPIs (Key performance indicators) that generates authentic reports on the employee’s performances.
6) Culture Building
The HR professionals integrates the company culture with the conditioned culture of the employees. They promote the organization’s values, diversity, and inclusivity through policies, programs, and everyday interactions, ensuring alignment between individual and organizational goals while fostering a harmonious and productive workplace environment.
7) Handling Challenges
The HRs of the organization manages the challenges that affect the employee’s morale and affects their productivity. They do it by addressing their issues and conflicts, regularly monitoring the workplace and seeking constructive feedbacks from the employees.
