Life has come full circle

My story is not an ordinary story. The journey so far has made it “extraordinaire”.

It was like yesterday when I landed here in TO on a spousal PR visa in the fall of 2004 with butterflies in my stomach and a glimmer of hope in my eyes to make it big in my own way.

12 years down the line and still counting, I am proud to call – Toronto (TO) as my home away from home. A place where I was able to build a roof over my head along with my loving husband, had my first born, made new friends and there was no looking back.

The story doesn’t end here.

Life is full of surprises. There was a time in the summer of 2011, when we as a family (I and my husband) decided to relocate back home to India close to our respective families. We thought, it’s time to own our responsibilities towards our  ailing parents and give our only child a childhood full of memories around grandparents, cousins, family values and a rich cultural heritage .

In no time, we dropped and sold all our prized possessions for peanuts, like world is ending tomorrow and packed our bags and said our final good-byes at YYZ.

Like this phrase, I read somewhere – “Sometimes even the greatest plans has to end so your destiny can begin”.

After landing in Delhi (capital of India) our birthplace, we were on a honeymoon period. A household full of house maids, cooks, chauffer driven cars and you are living the dream. Suddenly, BOOM – “Reality bites “. Bills to pay and expenses to meet…

After some struggle (I won’t call a real struggle) my husband got a job with one of the well-known Indian software consulting companies with an international clientele.

As everything in life is luck, my husband new job was at a very senior management level and to manage a big team of software development professionals and be the single POC for one of the company’s international banking client, which happened to be in TO, Canada. Within no time, my husband was on a plane to TO for his first client meeting.  Called it a : Destiny.

Turn of events, within the 10 months of being home, we were packing our bags to return  to TO, due to my husband new job demands.  To add, while in India, I chose to take time off to relax, rejuvenate and be a home maker.

Is this what we called – Life (REWIND OR FAST FORWARD)?

August 2012, we touched YYZ with our packed suitcases with a very funny feeling in our stomachs. We lived in a company provided hotel accommodation for a month. We had only 30 days to hunt for a living space and start our lives all over again from scratch where we have left.

Fast forward, 4 years have passed, we are back in the routine, we are in the grind but back on our feet. Indeed, Life has come full circles…
