A life of growth and development

If you were to give your life a title and a story right now, what would it be about? And what genre?

Is it action and adventure?

Romance?

Moody?

Miserable?

Sad?

Are you the protagonist? Or are you just watching it roll out in front of your eyes?

If I asked you to imagine a life of growth and development, what would that look like?

(Are these questions annoying yet?:))

Growth and personal development are hard, by the way. They come with misery, self-doubt, learning the hard way, and confusion. They come with a strong desire to give up, to sit on the sofa watching Netflix, with rejection.

So don’t be hard on yourself if you’re feeling any of that, or are wanting to avoid all that. If you so much as desire something, you are on the right path.

If you simply want something to change, to feel different. If you’re wondering about the point of what you’re doing, or what would it be like to be doing something else. You are on the right path, even if you’re not doing anything about it yet.

It always starts with wishful thinking, day dreaming, theorising. Followed by procrastination, more wishful thinking, and theorising. Then some form of judgement (why can’t I do it? etc). Then you oscillate between action and inaction.

Always go back to WHY.

Why you want that thing. That change. Why you desire something else.

If you stumble upon the desire for a purpose, you’ve hit the right spot. It’s never just about the money, just about the flexibility, just about freedom. It’s always about wanting to have purpose, impact, meaning.

Follow that thread.

Purpose gives the WHY and the WHAT (to do). It answers all the questions you have. From “why am I here”, to “what can do I for a living, make money, and feel happy at the same time?”

And if you haven’t been able to find a way to articulate that purpose, but you’d like to, let’s talk. You can find me here .

Love,

Monica
